How to make money blogging?

Posted by Arafat | 11:11 AM | | 0 comments »

How to make money blogging is a common question for those who want to monetize their blog. There are so many ways to do this. So many blog whiz provides free information on how to make money blogging nowadays. Here is the list of money making ops that you can choose:

1. Google ads
- Please don’t motivate others, click the ads on your own ads or exchange clicks. It might get the account banned from the network. There are many similar service providers but none as big and huge network as Google ads.

2. Paid posts (make sure nofollow, or else you will lose page rank)
- So far only socialspark tag along nofollow rules on paid post links. PayPerpost strict on dofollow links. However, there are other paid post networks which let the customers choose between dofollow or don’t bother about dofollow. I tried BuyBlogReviews, SponsoredReviews and Bloggerwave for nofollow paid posts and it works.

3. Text link ads - Private / Other service providers (nofollow)
There are many text link ads service providers available in the market but the fees is very high. Some even charging between 40 – 50%. Personally, I feel it is better to sell it privately to the visitors.Otherwise, you could try any other text link ads with nofollow and cheaper fees. For me, Scratchback is one of the cheapest, but only drawback is we need to wait until min $25 to withdraw.

4. 125×125 ad spot - Private / Other service providers (nofollow)
125×125 pixel ad spot becomes more famous these days. Most of the blog templates comes with ad spots of 125×125 nowadays. There are a few advertising networks provides 125×125 ad spots with higher fees. Personally, I want to sell it privately. It is up to the blogger’s decision.

5. Affiliate sales – Choose the paying affiliates
Affiliate income could be the largest income revenue in blogging industry if we really utilize it. Try to advertise affiliate links on domain, hosting, paid post networks, etc and get money from your visitor’s activity from this affiliate links.

6. Matched - Unique Earning method
You need to register your blog with Matched and can provide up to 5 posts link to advertise. There will be a small box advertisement running at the footer of this post if got any approved ads. Remember, each approved ads will earn us GBP$8.00. That is about US$12 - US$15 based on exchange rate.

Here are only a few guidelines on how to make money blogging from my point of view. If you have any additional ways, please share.

In the course of my short blogging journey, I have only lately discovered the importance and excitement of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I didn't care about SEO then as I was more concerned with writing and expressing myself through my blog. But, as my blogging evolved, I found out the importance of SERP indexing, traffic and earnings (not necessarily in that order). I also discovered one indispensable SEO tool to achieve all that - social bookmarking. It is a powerful tool in promoting a website. It helps you get a lot of backlinks, increase your traffic and get indexed by the search engines in a matter of minutes. Best of all, it's free!

However, the process is not without its 'faults'. Social bookmark submission is a tedious process, entailing a boring routine of typing the same redundant tags, descriptions, post titles
and URLs for each and every bookmarking service. This is probably one reason why many bloggers shun the process. However, I have discovered a service that makes social bookmarking submission automatic! Yup, you read it right. You just have to enter the needed information once (tags and description), and with one click of the mouse your post is submitted to sixteen (16) bookmarking services automatically! Isn't that great?
OnlyWire submits your bookmarks to the following bookmarking services easily:

* Backflip
* Bibsonomy
* Blinklist
* Blue Dot
* del.icio.us
* de.lirio.us
* Diigo
* Furl
* linkatopia
* Linkroll
* ma.gnolia
* Rawsugar
* Simpy
* Spurl
* unalog
* Wink

All you have to do is register an account with these social bookmarking services, encode your registered usernames and passwords with OnlyWire and you're ready to go. Your bookmarks will be submitted to 16 different social sites in a matter of minutes!

A word of caution though. Please don't abuse the system. Don't try to outsmart the process by opening multiple accounts to get multiple links for your blog. And also, don't submit all your posts to the system, just the ones you want indexed. Doing so will set alarm bells in the social bookmarking sites which may result to your site being tagged as a spam blog. Believe me, I have experienced it. Linkatopia has sent me a warning that I have wisely heeded. However, it may have been too late for my site is now banned from that site. I also noticed that some pages that used to be indexed on Google and Yahoo have disappeared. This may be a result of the spam tag Linkatopia gave my blog.

I have now stopped submitting, temporarily. I shouldn't have abused the system. I still recommend OnlyWire, just don't abuse it. Submit posts once or twice a week, at most. My other blog is still enjoying its benefits.

Writing Effective SEO Copy

Posted by Arafat | 11:12 PM | | 0 comments »

The purpose of SEO copywriting is to elevate your site's ranking in the search engines by incorporating targeted keywords and keyword descriptions that are found right in your text. Where do keywords come from?No specific place. They are basically obtained by finding out how people phrase their requests when they input a request into the search engines. You find these keywords by using the content keyword search tools provided by Overture or Google (more about this later on in this section!)

Once the top ten to twenty keywords are found, articles are then created around each of these key phrases and posted to the web site. This means being very clever about your sentence construction. Keep in mind it is not just the search engine spiders you are trying to please. These should also make sense and appeal to your reader.

Each search engine optimized articles that you post to your websites gives the search engines something to crawl when people type in those key phrases during a search. So in essence the search engine optimized article is mainly a way to increase sales or membership conversions by increasing your visibility in the search engines. In fact you could say that writing keyword paragraphs is one of the most effective ways to increase your web presence.

The most effective SEO writing is SEO writing that is brief. Professional SEO copywriters that keyword paragraphs ideally be about 250 -500 words in length. These types of articles must be well written and informative with at least two of the search terms strategically placed within the text and other on-page elements.Ideally however they should be longer than 100 words. The key is to find a happy balance between copywriting for people and copywriting for the search engines. Here are some tips to writing more effective SEO copy.

First of all don’t overdo the keywords. You will look incompetent to both the readers and the search engine spiders! Have you ever landed on a page that has been over optimized. Not only does the article usually just seem to “fill space” and not provide any information but it also makes whoever is behind its writing look greedy! To preserve your reputation on the web it is probably a good idea to only employ about three different keywords or keyword phrases per page. You want them to click the link to your site, as opposed to close their browser window in frustration once they read your awkward, badly composed keyword optimized copy!

Don’t write too little! There is such a thing as being too concise when it comes to SEO. People become very disappointed and annoyed when they search for some time for a focused subject only to be led to the same vague definition over and over. Disappointing and irritating people with your shallow search engine copy is no way to get customers or membership conversions.

Be tasteful about the use your keywords. Your keywords should not dominate or overload the piece. One way to tell if your piece makes sense is to read it out loud. If it sounds robotic, repetitive or nonsensical then you have probably laid on the keywords a little too thick.

Write the way you talk. Get to the point as if you were having a conversation and incorporate the keywords into your text afterwards. Excellent search engine optimized copy never sounds like the sentence was deliberately contrived to accommodate the keyword.

Don’t use big words. Try to write in grade four to grade six level conversational language. If you write any loftier you will not be comprehensible to the masses. SEO copy is definitely not the occasion to impress others with your large vocabulary or knowledge of obscure adjective.

Keywords that are too obtrusive or omnipresent are a turn off for everything human that can read. Even if the search engine spiders find them friendly, lousy, forced sounding content is only going to have your visitor clicking the little X at the right hand corner of the browser window after they have decided your writing is
incomprehensible.

Use keyword phrases in headlines, titles and sub titles. There is no point to trying to do this if the keyword phrase that you are trying to incorporate completely distorts the title of your article. Never use a keyword in a title if it obscures the article’s topic or intention. Your best bet is to try to keep the title a complete sentence well at the same time trying to capture the general sense of it by using one or two well-chosen, high ranking keywords.

Adsense startup guide

Posted by Arafat | 10:44 PM | | 0 comments »

Well, Google Adsense is the online equivalent of that.You’ll have to invest just a little bit of time in learning about it, but once you get it set up you can look forward to seeing those nice checks roll in. Or, if you’re totally online,seeing money flow into your PayPal account. Google AdSense is a fast and absolutely ridiculously easy way for people with websites of all types and sizes to put up and display relevant Google ads on the content pages of their site and earn money.Because the Google AdSense ads relate to what your visitors came to your site to read about, or because the ads match up to the interests and characteristics of the kind of people your content attracts, you now have a way to improve your content pages AND make some serious bucks off of them.

Here’s the thing you need to know: Google has no strict criteria for acceptance into the AdSense program,and Ad Sense doesn’t hit you with a minimum traffic requirement. The only criteria they’re really sticky about is the standard “acceptable content” requirements, and that’s pretty standard almost anywhere.

Google AdSense says they’re serious about attracting quality content sites, and because of that they only allow
AdSense members to serve one ad per page. This means you can’t use AdSense for both banners and skyscrapers.(Note: banners are those horizontal ads that run up top and down bottom. Skyscrapers are the tall ads that run vertically, on the left and right of your page text.) Once you’ve been accepted into Google AdSense, you’ll be able to get the AdSense advertisements on any site you own using the same ad code, provided you obey
the Google guidelines. (And that’s very, very important—more on that later.) Your reporting doesn’t occur in real time, but is updated regularly throughout the day. Right now, you can’t view reports based on a domain or site basis if you run the AdSense on more than one site.

Recently when i was browsing through Problogger, i found this quite useful thing for you all blogger. It actually using Firefox addon to make it easier for you to blogging such as Auto Fill Forms, Publish your content right from your browser and may other thing, Trust me it is more helpful than you ever thought, anyways here's the post:

There are so many extensions available for the browser, you can virtually do just about anything. I’ve started to transform FireFox into more than just a browser, it has become my ultimate blogging toolbox. The following twelve FireFox extensions will give you a head start on turning FireFox into your own personal blogging toolbox.

Gbutts

Many Google Services In One - These days, it seems as though Google has a bazillion services. Having individual buttons for each service in FireFox would not only be cumbersome but it would also take up valuable screen real estate. Thankfully, there is an extension which enables access to all of the Google Services from one button called Gbutts. After installing this extension, you can configure which Google Services show up in the drop down menu, allowing you to only see the ones you actively use.

In Browser Feed Reader - I use FeedDemon as my stand-alone FeedReader of choice, but I also use one within FireFox called SageToo. I use this extension primarily to keep tabs on forums I am a member of. Since I need to have the browser open to reply to a forum post or start a new thread, having quick access to new posts/threads within the browser is a time saver versus reading the feeds in a stand alone feed reader.

Scribefire

Publish Content Right From The Browser - ScribeFire should be of no surprise for longtime readers of Problogger. ScribeFire enables me to have quick access to a blog editor. If the publishing system you use has XML-RPC support, you can configure ScribeFire to connect directly to your blog. I use ScribeFire to quickly publish drafts or full blown posts to my own blog, right from the browser.

See Ranks Without Researching - With the SearchStatus extension, you can easily see a particular URL’s Alexa Ranking as well as its Google Page Rank. Finding this information used to require researching the site by putting the URL through a Page Rank service.

SnagIt

Take Snapshots From The Browser - People are continuously surprised to find out that TechSmith has a FireFox extension (SnagIt Extension) available particularly for those who use their SnagIt software. This software makes it easy as pie to take screen captures. The extension takes things one step further by enabling access to the software through the browser. In my arsenal of tools, this extension is probably used the most as publishing how-to articles or reviews requires an abundant amount of screenshots.

Built In FTP Client - One of the reasons why I used Internet Explorer long after FireFox was released was because of the built in FTP client. Convenience of the client kept me from using alternatives. Once I discovered the FireFTP extension however, I really began to fall in love with FireFox. FireFTP adds an FTP client right into the browser which I have found to work better than any stand alone software alternative I have tried.

TinyURL Creator

Easy to Digest URLs - Thanks to services like Twitter which limits messages to 140 characters or less, we now have a myriad of services online which aims to shrink that mile long URL into something more manageable. Despite the other services that are available, I am been a big fan of TinyURL. So it should be no surprise then that I am recommending the TinyURL Creator. This extension can create tiny URLs from links, page links, and the text that is displayed in the address bar of the browser. On top of that, the TinyURLs that are created are automatically copied to your clipboard leaving you with the only step of pasting the link.

Tweeting From The Browser - Although Twhirl makes for an excellent stand alone application to handle your Twitter needs, having access to Twitter from within FireFox adds a convenience factor not to mention it is one less program running on your machine. When accessing Twitter from the browser, I recommend the TwitKit extension. When activated, Twitter will load in a sidebar within FireFox with a list of the 10 latest tweets. I typically use TwitKit to publish quick thoughts or links without the distraction of being sucked into the endless stream of information that Twhirl provides. As an alternative, you can use TwitterBar.

Auto Fill Forms

Auto Fill Forms - Most blogs have a commenting section made up of four fields. Name, URL, Email and a text area for your comment. Instead of typing in your Name, URL, and Email over and over again, you can use the AutoFill Forms extension and configure it so that when you press a keyboard shortcut, these fields will automatically be filled in with the configured values. This extension has saved me a ton of time as well as keystrokes. One caveat though, this extension does not work on blogs who use a third party commenting system such as Disqus or CoComment.

Copy Only The Text - Ever copy a section of text from a website and then paste it into a Word Document or into a WYSIWYG Text editor? Generally, not only is the text pasted but so is the formatting. I know at times, this has driven me insane. Thankfully, there is an extension which prevents this from happening called Copy Plain Text. This extension adds an option to your right click context menu that will say, “Copy Plain Text” which does exactly what it advertises.

Shareaholic

Sharing Across Multiple Services With One Button - While I tend to stick with using the Delicious Bookmarks extension as that is the only bookmarking service I use, I figured that limiting the bookmarking services to just delicious would be premature. So, introducing Shareaholic. Shareaholic is similar to the GButts extension in that, users have access to multiple social bookmarking/networking sites from one icon. After configuring the sites for which you have accounts with, sharing a site is as simple as a few clicks of the mouse. At least seventeen different services are supported which should be enough to get you started.

Relevancy In The Browser - When you’re writing that next blog post, don’t bother spending time using Google to look up related posts, images, etc. Instead, use the Zemanta FireFox Extension. Zemanta presents images, links, articles, tags in a simple interface. It encourages re-use and linking to other content with as little effort as possible. In the world of blogging, being related is usually a good thing.
